Psychological support has clear professional limits.
At Semmanam, we recognise situations where counselling or psychotherapy may not be sufficient or appropriate, and responsible referrals are required.
When Immediate Help Is Required
If an individual is experiencing any of the following, immediate professional or emergency support is advised:
- • Thoughts of self-harm or harm to others
- • Severe emotional distress or loss of control
- • Medical or psychiatric emergencies
- • Situations involving immediate risk or danger
In such cases, please contact local emergency services, a nearby hospital, or a qualified medical professional.
Semmanam’s Referral Approach
Referrals are suggested when concerns fall outside the scope of psychological counselling or psychotherapy.
This may include medical evaluation, psychiatric consultation, or specialized services.
Referrals are offered with respect, care, and professional responsibility — never as dismissal or abandonment.
Scope & Professional Responsibility
Semmanam does not provide emergency medical services, crisis hotlines, or inpatient care.
Our responsibility includes recognising limits and guiding individuals toward appropriate support when needed.
Seeking the Right Kind of Support Matters
Professional care includes knowing when additional help is required.
